When opening a Layer Inspector, the layer visibility is available under "Show in Device Tree for Sequence".

Show-in-Device-Tree-for-Sequence
For each type of layer, determine in which sequence the layer should be visible and editable. This enables a better structure of the project in the devices tree. If you create a new sequence (see chapter Sequences), you can directly create a new video or audio layer, which are visible in the selected sequence. You can decide later to make a layer visible or invisible for a sequence by using the checkbox in front of the sequence name. Select "All" to set or unset the visibility for all sequences. Be aware that you can only edit content on layers which are visible in the selected sequence. This does not apply to SDK commands.

In the top left of the Device Tree, there is a button toggle-show-all-devices to switch between showing all layers or just the layer which is set visible for the selected sequence. If all layers are shown, layers for which visibility is deactivated for the selected sequence are grayed out but visible.

If you have active values on invisible layers, it is not possible to store these values. To store them, you have to switch to the sequence where the layer belongs to.
